No Friday Five this week so far as I can see, so I thought I'd catch up on some older questions. These are from the June 16th post

1. Can you diagram a sentence?

You betcha!  Diagramming sentences was one of my favourite things in primary school. I loved learning about all the moving parts of a sentence and how they fit together.

2. What word do you always spell wrong, no matter what?

ocassion

3. What word always looks like it's spelled wrong to you but isn’t?

dessiccate

4. Do you have any little memory games when it comes to similar words, like principle and principal?

Nah, I just remember. To be honest, spelling is a trivial skill, but it's something I've always had a knack for.

5. Was grammar something you enjoyed or detested in school?

Loved it. LOVED IT. I love learning the grammar of new languages, too. Once I figure out how a new language works, I tend to lose interest in it.

Re: 5 when learning other languages, you're my opposite! I could learn vocab all day. But as far as grammar goes, I'm like a feral child. Why can't language-learning just mean amassing mountains of nouns? ;_; I'm quite good at attaching meaning to arbitrary symbols and remembering it, so that's the bit I find fun. It feels like cracking a code.
